A variety of camps for children ages 6 and up are being offered this summer at Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus. Enroll your children in week-long camps beginning the week of June 21. A new mix and match schedule allows children to participate in a morning camp from 9 a.m. to noon and an afternoon camp from 1 to 4 p.m.; before and after care is available from 8 to a 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.

Keep your children’s minds sharp over the summer by enrolling them in academic camps including “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Math Mania,” reading & writing, science and Spanish for kids. In “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” teenagers ages 12 to 16 will participate in hands-on investigations to solve mock mysteries in the mornings beginning June 21; this camp is co-sponsored by the Georgetown Police Department.

Allow your child’s creative side to flourish in art camps such as arts and crafts, basic drawing & painting; beading, crocheting, digital photography, high tech art, “Mosaics: Create Great Art,” “Percussion: Beat to a Different Drum!,” sewing and summer theater. In “Mosaics: Create Great Art,” children ages 8 and up will create their own mosaic using pieces of mirror and tile beginning on August 9 in the afternoon.   

Children will have fun and increase their knowledge in enrichment camps including “A Better Me,” “A Potpourri of Fun,” “Circus Fun,” “Culinary Arts: Create and Have Fun,” “Get a Game Plan for Your Future” and “Thriller Dance – Beat It.” In “A Potpourri of Fun,” children ages 6 to 13 will enjoy a week of fun educational activities including current events, fitness games and puzzles; this camp is held every week in the afternoon.

Children will have fun while exercising in fitness camps such as baseball, baseball pitching, basketball for boys, basketball for girls, cheerleading, football, “Get Fit,” soccer and tennis.
In “Get Fit,” children ages 9 to 16 will learn how to build strength, burn calories and eat healthy beginning June 28, July 19 or August 9 in the afternoon.
